What areas can we provide support for?

We provide support for people impacted by ADHD. Our support is accessible for anyone who has ADHD or is seeking support for their own condition or someone around them. We can advise families or services on how to improve the setting of someone with ADHD, how to manage the behaviour.

What areas can we provide advice for?

We can advise people with ADHD to manage the impact it has on their life, and begin to reduce the symptoms.

We would advise children and adults and their families to read NICE guidelines recommendations for managing ADHD. These include:

ADHD is a complex disorder which can be overwhelming to understand. Once you begin to understand ADHD, your expectations of the disorder will be clearer and you will feel more confident in recognising and monitoring behaviour. It can be reassuring for everyone around to have a good understanding of ADHD. Therefore, it is important that the right information is available for families to access. If information is more accessible, it will improve the understanding of the disorder within the family and will help to positively impact their lives.

We understand the importance of deciding to take medication. To ensure that you are making to choice best suited for your situation, we have professional ADHD nurses who are experienced in giving accurate medical advice.

Good information and support tailored to needs and circumstances are important for all people using NHS services, but some aspects are particularly important for people with ADHD. Evidence identifies the need for information tailored to family circumstances, particularly when a child has ADHD, and to highlight the importance of daily structure for adults with ADHD.
